living life, choosing joy

Welcome to…the bungalow brood !

this is me!

This is me! I’m Blythe, and the bungalow brood is my outlet to share my crazy ideas, deep thoughts, awesome deals,cute photos, and pretty much everything else under the sun! {Or in other words, pretty much a normal blog :)}

My husband and I have a dream of one day having our own little bungalow where we can garden and paint, raise chickens and children, live off the land as much as possible, and also have wild, raucous backyard parties late in to the night {but we’ll invite the neighbors, so it will be OK ;)}

In the mean time, we are practicing our gardening skills, simplifying our lives {as well as our possessions}, and getting out of debt, all the while living in a cozy one-bedroom town house {purposely} with out a television, clothes dryer, or microwave. So far the journey has been…an adventure. 🙂

So you want to know a little bit about me?? OK, since you asked, here goes:

I am wife to Nathan (pretty much the most awesomest man on the planet!!) … and stay-at-home-mom to our wonderful little boy, Benjamin :)….and we all live together in beautiful (and sunny!) Southern California.

I truly love to read, craft, organize, coupon, and clean…cooking is not really me deal, but I do try…with mixed results. 🙂

I am utterly fascinated with the practice of minimalism, the writing of F. Scott Fitzgerald, and miniature horses (like the ones at Quicksilver Ranch in Solvang!). I also love to use ellipses…almost as much I enjoy saying the word “ellipses”. {Try it, it’s a pretty fun word to say!}

I am ultimately a lover of Jesus and on a life-long journey of understanding what it means to truly live for HIM …which is not always easy, but it is ALWAYS worth it!!

So that’s me, in one tiny little nutshell 🙂
